Research Note

NOTE: If you are adding EPPERLY as a last name PLEASE submit a RELIABLE source.

IMPORTANT NOTE The attached death register[1] is for an Elizabeth (SPANGLER) Sowers - daughter of Jacob and Chester (aka Christina) SPANGLER... It is NOT for an (Ann?) Elizabeth (EPPERLY) Sowers, daughter of Jacob EPPERLY/EBERLE and Elizabeth. These are 2 different women, with different parents. WHY are people attaching this to Anna Elizabeth EPPERLY when this source is clearly for an Elizabeth SPANGLER??? SEE Virginia Deaths and Burials, 1853-1912 Image 95 and 96[2] - one labeled as LEWIS.. LOOK at pg 95 and 96 duplicate entries for 1st 5 persons on pg 95 are same as last 5 persons on pg 96. Elizabeth (SPANGLER) Sowers is most likely living with son David Sowers under the 70-80 year old female in 1840 Floyd Co. VA census[3] and is living with David in 1850 Floyd Co. VA census[4].

Per Floyd County Virginia Death Register (entered 2x Image 95 and 96) BOTH state Elizabeth (SPANGLER) SOWERS parents as Jacob and Christ. SPANGLER, Informant was Elizabeth SOWER'S son David SOWERS (I believe he probably did know who his grandparents were... NOT EPPERLY (not sure where this EPPERLY, as her parents, is coming from. Have found NO source) "Virginia Deaths and Burials, 1853-1912", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:HJ19-RL6Z : 29 January 2020), Elizabeth Sowers, 1857.

There is a Jacob SPANGLER in Montgomery Co. VA records 1782-1788

Per Jacob EPPERLY's (who was attached as father) Will 20 Nov 1810 Frederick Co. MD.. it only states his daughter Elizabeth married a SOURS (NO 1st name listed, no marriage record found either, and NO proof this Elizabeth (EPPERLY) SOURS ever came to VA) could someone please send me a source of this attached father who BTW did not marry a Christine, his wife was named Elizabeth (Wade?), she, along with their children, are mentioned in Grace Evangelical Lutheran, Rock Hill, Frederick Co. MD church records..
