Biography
In the 1910 Census, Jennie is 25 years old and living with her married sister, Georgia (Sparkman) Freer in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Later that same year, Jennie marries James A. Johnston on June 20, 1910, which is fairly late in life, for he is at least 39 years old at this point and Jennie is 26. By 1920 James & Jennie are in Modesto, California. They are roomers in a boarding house and they own a flour mill. In 1930 they still own the flour mill. Jennie, who lived to be 89 years old, is buried along side her husband, James, in the Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto, Stanislaus Co., CA. I don't think she and James ever had any children.
