Henry was born in 1814 in Portsmouth, England; he was the son of Henry Sparks and Mary Tussler.
He married Eliza Venables In St George's Church in Grahamstown on 18 January 1836:[1]

Eliza passed away in about 1838 and he then married Mary Eliza Ann Knott on 2 July 1839 in St George's Church in Grahamstown.[2]

Henry was working on the De Beers New Rush diamond mines in Kimberley when he passed away at the age of 57 on 18 August 1872.[4][5]
