Anna (Sparks) Cowden was born in Appalachia, in Ohio. See Appalachia Project.

The Sparks family was living in Madison Township, Muskingum County in 1860[1] and 1880.[2]
Anna married William Barton Cowden. They were living in Dresden in 1940.[3]
Anna died 22 December 1942 in Zanesville.[4] Burial was at Dresden Cemetery.[5]
