Biography
The daughter of William Thomas Sparks (1856-1938) and Mollie Cosby (1859-1938), Cora was born in Colbert County in 1881.[citation needed] She married William Lafayette Crittenden (1879-1935), the son of Lafayette Frederick Crittenden and Octemia Ellen Webb, marrying in Colbert county on October 3, 1899[1] and having three children together:
- Ida Crittenden (1901-)
- Myrtle Adele (Crittenden) McBride (1904-1965)
- Annie Mae (Crittenden) Cline (1905-1991)
They made their home in Tuscumbia, Alabama,[2][3] moving to Muscle Shoals, Alabama by 1930.[4] Her husband passed away in 1935 and Cora remarried, marrying John Nelson in Colbert County on March 16, 1940.[5] She passed away in Tuscumbia, Alabama at the age of 61[6] and is buried at Morning Star Cemetery there.[7]
