JACKSON, Doris Delight – Age 89, of Roseburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 1997 in a local nursing center. She was born on June 1, 1908 in Hollister, California to Edward James and Gertrude (Smith) Sparling. She married Harwood Floyd Jackson, he preceded her in death on March 24, 1992. After retiring from Boy Scout work in Hawaii they lived in California for many years, moving to Roseburg in 1972. rs Jackson was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by a daughter Nada Rosenberger of Roseburg, a son, Leslie Jackson of Scarboro, Ontario, Canada; seven grandchildren, Christine Mackey and Carol Peterson of Roseburg, Jeffrey Gohn and Catherine Perry of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michael Gohn of Denver, Colorado, Dan and Shayne Jackson of Scarboro, Ontario, Canada; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Fred Sparling of San Jose, California. Private family services will be held. Private cremation rites have been held. At the family's request contributions may be made in Mrs. Jackson's memory to the Alzheimer's Assn., 1015 N.W. 22nd Avenue, Portland, OR 97210.
