Alice Mary Sparrow was born on 7 August 1872 at Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana to her parents. She married Walter Gowan Rice on 30 June 1897 at Vigo County, Indiana^[1], and they had the following children: Alberta S. Rice. She died on 8 June 1969 at Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois and is buried at Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana^[2].
