Biography

Silas Spaulding, son of James, was born 25 March 1757 at Westford, Massachusetts. He was baptized 3 April 1757.[1][2]

Private Silas Spaulding served with 10th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Silas Spaulding is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A107706.

Silas was a sergeant in Captain Oliver Barron's company which marched on the Lexington alarm of 19 April 1775.[3] He was a soldier of the in the Revolution and was at the battle of Bennington, Vermont and was also at the surrender of Burgoyne and in the battles which preceded it.[2]

He married Hannah Brown, 24 April 1778, the service was by Rev. Jonathan Searl of Mason, New Hampshire. Hannah was born in 1760, she died 22 Aug. 1833.[2]

He settled in Granville, New York, and later moved to Fort Ann, New York.[2]

Silas died 29 Feb. 1812 at Fort Ann, New York.[2]
