Birth and Parents

Thankful (Prescott) Baldwin was born in Massachusetts.

Thankful, the youngest of nine children of Jonas Prescott and Thankful Wheeler was born on 17 September 1705 at Groton, Massachusetts.[1]

Marriages and Children

Thankful was married twice. She married 1) Timothy Spaulding (1700-1734), the son of Timothy and Rebecca (Winn) Spaulding on 31 May 1726 at Groton, Massachusetts.[2] They had five children born at Westford:

  1. Reuben Spaulding (b. 29 Aug 1726; d. )[3]m.
  2. Leonard Spaulding (b. 27 Oct 1728; d. 1788)[4] m. 5 Mar 1756 at Westford, MA, Margaret Love (1733 - 1827)
  3. Samuel Spaulding (b. 4 Stp 1730; d. 1760)[5] m. say 1757, Abigail (Unknown) (1734-)
  4. Josiah Spaulding (b. 13 Jul 1732; d. )[6] m. 25 Nov 1760 at Chelmsford, MA, Esther Perham (1713-1790)
  5. Spaulding (b. 25 Aug 1734; d. )[7] m.

Timothy Spaulding died on 11 April 1734 at Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

Thankful married 2) Joseph Baldwin (1701-1747), the son of Thomas and Sarah (French) Baldwin on 7 July 1741 at Westford, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[8] Joseph and Thankful had one child:

  1. Thankful Baldwin (b. 1742; d. 1747)

Death and Burial

Thankful Persis (Prescott) Spaulding-Baldwin died on 3 December 1751 in her 46th year at Townsend; a memorial at FindAGrave.[9]
