Edwin was born about 1811. He was the son of George Speake and Martha Matthews. He married Dianotia P. Hudson in 1825. He passed away in 1865 leaving all of his possessions and land to his siblings: Lucy Turner, Bettie Williams, George Speaks, Nancy W. Speaks, and Margaret L. Speaks. He had no known children.
