ESSEX COUNTY, VA

THIS INDENTURE MADE THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF January 1722. Between Buckenham Brown of Parish of St Ann in the County of Essex of one part and Job Spearman of Parish and County abovesaid. Witnesseth that said Buckenham Brown for sum of four pounds sterling money of Great Britain by these presents doth grant unto said Job Spearman his heirs forever one parcel of land in Parish and County aforesaid and bounded. Beginning at the North West Corner of the said Spearman’s line which was bought of PETER CORNWALL and in the line of Mr Bernard Gain’s thence with said Job Spearman’s line binding thereon south to the south west corner of the abovesaid Job Spearmans land in the line of John Harrison’s land thence with the said Harrison’s land binding therewith to the back line of the said Buckenham Browns patent thence with the said back line binding therewith north west till it comes to the south west corner of the abovesaid Gain’s land thence with the said line down a swamp binding thereon to the first mentioned beginning. Including by estimation twenty five acres and also that the said Buckenham Brown will acknowledge the deed in Essex County Court and his wife Eliza. Relinquishes her right of dower.
