James was born abt. 1720. He is the son of Job Spearman and Elizabeth Martin his older brother John Spearman mentioned his son John Spearman in his Will The Will was sent to court on May 8, 1772, and was read on May 13, 1772

He was the son of Job Spearman and Elizabeth Martin his Will was sent to court on may 8, 1772 to be recorded on may 13, 1772 it mentioned in the Will a nephew and or (cousin) Zeruiah Rutherford his sister Susannah Spearman est.1710, two hundred acres and if something happened to her it go to brother Job Spearman's son Thomas and to brother James Spearman's son John, he also mentioned his brother Job Spearman and the 100 acres of land his father John Spearman purchased of Robert Paine's now more on the Rutherford family it says he left his cousin and which is possibly another nephew named Micajah Rutherford 247 acres at this time the term cousin was a nephew (cousin an old Virginia term meaning nephew) this information is from the Spearman Book!
