Mr. Davidson married, February 29, 1876, Jeanette Speer, born on Sixth street, Pittsburgh, daughter of James and Martha Jane (Wallace) Speer. The Speers, of Scotch-Irish descent, were early settlers at Speers' landing and Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Rev. Speer, grandfather of Mrs. Davidson was a minister of the Baptist church.Rev. Speer, father of James Speer, was a minister of the Baptist church.
