Biography

This person was created on 13 September 2010 through the import of all_01september_2010.GED.

Added 18 Feb 2018 by Francis E. Berkey (Berkey-120) having left Bonnie Nilsen's work pretty much alone but attracted to Barbara AKA SP4 because she was married to Joseph Berkey AKA BK22. So it seems logical to pursue that line. A big THANK YOU to Bonnie for he prompt agreement and the smoothing of the speed bump. I am now getting back to the BK22/SP4 marriage which is #2 in Line 2 of edition 2 of The Berkey Book. I actually think I'm gaining on it. I guess a man by the name of John Uline thinks so as he called me about lunch time the other day and had discussion with me about the Wayne County Speichers with me. So likewise thank you John.

  • Personal family information both written and from family Bibles gathered over several years of travel and library research. Original edition The Berkey Book and also 2nd edition which has many Berkeys that I personally researched as well as Line 26 which is started with Orange Grove Berkey. This is as close as our branch comes but in Line 3 appears his younger sister, Catherine Winchester Berkey who married Joseph Hochstetler who is DJH-4263. This was actually a mistake on the part of the informant named Wade Miller whose mother was a Berkey and since Catherine was in the household of Jacob Berkey he thought she was his daughter but she was not. Many of my relatives are in Descendants of Jacob Hochstetler first published in 1912 by Rev. Harvey Hostetler, D.D. long before personal computers.

Little information. As of 18 Sep 2017 wadding in to strengthening the root system for the German/Swiss Berkey family I will be knitting Lines 1,2 & 3 of The Berkey Book together hopefully in to a more complete and in focus picture with added input from Gingerich & Kreider and Jonas Martin Berkey and his book on the Salem Indiana lineage,

Speicher-774 and Speicher-11 appear to represent the same person because: Well now, here I am back into the Berkeys and a long time after my creation of Barbara Speicher-774 and a lot smarter on how wiki works. I don't know how she got missed back then but we need to loose one of them.
