Biography

Strother was born in 1926 to Tolbert Spence and Fanny Russell.

He registered for the war in 1944 and graduated from Wayne High School, Wayne County, West Virginia on May 17, 1945.

In 1951 he married Edna Watts, they had no children. That marriage ended and he then married Jean Thompson, they had one son.

Strother passed away in 2008 and is buried in Community Memorial Gardens, Wayne, WV, USA.

Born February 5, 1926 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late Tolbert and Fannie Russell Spence. Preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Spence; four sisters, Linda Davis, Irene Napier, Thena Raynor, Lorraine Richardson; three brothers, Henry Spence, Bernie Spence and Tolbert Spence, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Jean Thompson Spence; a daughter, Cheryl Spence; two grandchildren. Burial December 23, 2008 at Community Memorial Gardens.
