Dorcas Spence, daughter of Alexander Spence and Elizabeth Browne daughter of Evan Browne, was born about 1686 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. She passed away about 1708.
Dorcas was named in the will of her step-grandfather, John Jordan, dated 6 February 1693/4:[1]
Unto my loving [stepson] son Alexander Spence's daughter Dorcas one Negroe boy Dick. If Dorcas should marry and died without issue then the said Negro doe descend unto her next heir at law.
Dorcas and her husband Richard Neale are both named in the appraisal of the estate of her father, Alexander Spence, presented in Westmoreland County Court 29 May 1706.[1]
