Biography

Harry was born at Brighton, Sussex on June 24, 1862 the second child and first son to Henry Spencer and Hannah (Ayres) Spencer and Christened at St Nicholas, Brighton on November 30, 1862

He met and had a de facto relationship with Ann Sheppard.

1871 Census Harry (aged nine years) (Scholar) was living at Brighton, Sussex with his parents Henry (33) and Hannah (30) with siblings Martha (17), Emily J (7), John (4) and William (2).

1881 Census Harry (aged 18 years) (plasterer) was living at Claremont Row, Brighton, Sussex with his parents (Henry (44) Hannah (41) and siblings Emily J (16), John (14), William (11), George (9), Caroline (3) and Frederick (1).

1891 Census Harry (aged 28 years) (Plasterer) was living with his (unmarried) wife Ann (29) and children Ann (6 ), Alice (4 ) and William (2)

Harry died in 1919 at Brighton, Sussex at thew age of 57 years

Harry and Ann had six children :- Ann Spencer (1885-Abt 1974), Alice (1886-1963), William Arthur (1889-1917), Ellen (1892-1953), Henry (1893-Abt1983) and George (195-1917)
