Biography

Ada Jeannette Spencer was born on September 29, 1867, in Lansing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Ebenezer Spencer and Harriet Eddy. She married Harlon W Sherman on November 28, 1884, in Unionville, Michigan. She then married Nathaniel G Alexander on September 19, 1892 in Gladwin, Michigan. According to Ada's obituary, they had no children during their marriage, but had a foster son.

She died on March 24, 1944, in Clyde, Ohio, at the age of 76, and was buried there.

CLYDE, March 25. - Mrs. Ada Jeannette Alexander, wife of N.R. Alexander, died unexpectedly Friday at her home on South street. While she had not been well for some time, she was apparently as well as usual Thursday but expired after eating her breakfast Friday.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Spencer and was born in Michigan, September 29, 1868. She married Nathaniel R. Alexander more than 50 years ago. They had no children but reared a foster son, Sgt. Edwin Ream, who is stationed in California. Funeral arrangements await word from him.

Mr. and Mrs. Alexander removed to Fremont from Michigan about 1910. She returned to Michigan for a time. After coming back to Ohio they settled in Clyde. She attended the Clyde Church of Christ.

Surviving are the husband and two brothers, Clinton Spencer of San Francisco, Cal., and Ed Spencer, Clyde. A brother and a sister preceded her in death. A half brother, William Moore, died two years ago.
