Samuel was born in 1907. He was the son of Glenn Spencer and Esther Abbott. Samuel enlisted to serve after Pearl Harbor and was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. He was buried in field of honor in France.[1]
Research notes
There is a memorial for a Cpl. Samuel M. Spencer from Adams Co., Illinois with the same life span listed in a Belgian cemetery on Find a Grave.[2]
