There are multiple Jonathan Spencer sons. Unfortunately this Jonathan Spencer was not born in Hartford on 20 Dec 1710.
This Jonathan Spencer was the son of Jarad Spencer of Haddam, Connecticut, who moved his family to Saybrook, Connecticut. There is another Jonathan Spencer born in Hartford but it is not this Jonathan.
This Jonathan was born in Saybrook, Connecticut in 1704. The death date and the death place are correct.

Thanks. I see the page on that book but it doesn't appear to be immediately available online, I could try to find it but I am assuming it doesn't give much more than you've quoted. Are there other primary sources or information on the parents of Jonathan Spencer b.1704, Saybrook?
We need to untangle this profile and create and link profiles for conflated persons.
The source here is from the FamilySearch indexes of Connecticut birth records, which indexes a John Spencer born 20 Dec 1710, Hartford Twp, Hartford, to Jared Spencer.
My connection right now is through linked child Jerusha Spencer Wilcox. What does your Beekman Patent source list for children? I believe it has Reuben but does it have Jerusha?
I added the narrative from Settlers of the Beekman Patent to the bio. I am not sure how to source it because the info is not available online. It has to be purchased and then it is sent in a .pdf format.
Thanks, this is very helpful. I can get access to the book if I need to.
I still want to find more primary sources too to help untease this. Not sure what if anything to infer from this source has his first son's name as Jared.
