Note

1830 Wayne Co KY: 00110001/0001001
1820 Wayne Co KY: 000001/33110
Comparing neighbors in both years shows a Sloan and a McGowin in each year. Philip Huff is on the same page in 1830.
Was this the same man? If so, two younger men were not at home in 1820 or hired men or grandsons. He does not fit any of the family groups as shown at gedcoms at Ancestry.com; most other early Spencers in KY or TN are shown there.
John's wife was born 1780-90. The son John Jr is speculative, but the name and the place fit, plus the apparent lack of children born to this man fits our being unable to track the family. One of the girls in 1820 may have been Louisa F Spencer, married before 1850 in Wayne Co KY, resided 1850 Mercer Co KY.
There were other Spencers, Anney (Spencer) McHenry in Wayne Co KY and her brother John in Russell Co KY, but they do not look to be related to the John in Wayne Co.
There was a John Spencer in 1820 Wayne Co KY, p 94, 000001/33110.
He was probably the same John Spencer was on the same page as Phillip Huff in 1830: 00110001/0001001. He was born in the 1770s, before ca 1775, and was probably too young to have been our Hannah's father.
