Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Sources are very important here on Wikitree, especially on Pre-1700 profiles. It is how we show where we got the info and help others find it too. Find out more about sources here and more detailed info here.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Hello Jeffrey,

I see that you joined in 2013 and many things have changed since then! You recently became active and asked about how to use this site. Since I am a Greeter, it seemed to offer you the same information that we offer to brand new members. So here is the tutorial we offer. To help save you time, energy and frustration, please start with our New Member How-To pages.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to assist you.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Greeter

Thank you, Jeffrey, for volunteering to help us grow our worldwide tree.

Our help pages and search features can be accessed from the links in the upper right hand corner of most pages.

VERY IMPORTANT: The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger our global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.

If you're interested in old photos, we have a weekly photo contest.

Hope you enjoy WikiTree! :)

I started looking up my ancestors back in 2003. With a name like Spencer, that can be really difficult. I recently got back into it and found a bunch of information, but still have some rough spots as common names overlap.
