Biography

Mary was the wife of Timothy Spencer.[1] In her Revolutionary War pension application, she stated that she and Timothy were married August 20, 1779 in Stokes County, NC. In this application, she mentions a child, Kindness Woody, the widow of Taunton Woody, and a son, Samuel, who was 51 years old.[2]

Spencer-6988 and Willis-2177 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same dates. Use 'Willis' as LNAB.

Spencer-6988 and Willis-2177 are not ready to be merged because: These may be duplicates but there is no proof that Mary's maiden name was Willis or Spencer. There are several trees that show she and her husband Timothy are cousins and that her maiden name was also Spencer. We need to find acceptable verification of parentage before a decision is made to merge them.

Spencer-6988 and Willis-2177 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, need merged. Willis is her maiden name at birth. Spenser is her current last name as that is her husband's name. Please merge
