Biography

John came to Western Australia with his parents on the Hooghly, arriving on 12 February 1830.[1]

In around 1846 he had a son with an Aboriginal Yued woman named Junnop. The source is a in New Norcia Studies publication written by Larrie Strautmanis.[2]

In 1846 he married Frances Crane b 1826 d 1891 in the Upper Swan.

In 1854 John Spice took up location 99 and established 'Goyamin' in Chittering. William J Spice (John Spice's son) married Mary Anne Ferguson in 1871, and about the time their son Louis John was born, in 1879, they moved into the 'Brockhill' house, after he inherited it.

John died in 1874 at 55 years of age.[3]
