Stephen was born in 1797 in the small village of Belchalwell, Dorset, to Robert and Mary.
He married Elizabeth Ricketts in August 1816 at Bellchalwell, and they had a first daughter there in 1820.
A couple more children followed, but after the 1825 birth of heir son Stimon there is no obvious record for Stephen. However the 1841 Census shows his wife and their three children in Hazelbury Bryan, so presumably Stephen died before then.
