Jane was born in 1830 and baptised at Smarden in June [1]. She was the daughter of William Spicer and Eliza Wilmshurst. On 8 Jan 1841 the family including their children (both from their marriage and Elizabeth's previous marriage) emigrated to New Zealand aboard the Lord William Bentinck from London, UK. They settled in Wellington (they arrived on 19 May 1841), where George took a farm on the old Porirua Road. She passed away in 1867.
Maternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on MyHeritageDNA who share a 11.1 cM segment on chromosome 21, consisting of Pamela Driscoll and Joan Millen, her 3rd cousin 1x removed, and S.D., her 4th cousin 1x removed. (Joan Millen and S.D. are 3rd cousins 2x removed.) These matches have been independently verified via the MyHeritage Chromosome Browser. Their most-recent common ancestor is Eliza Wilmshurst, the 3x great grandmother of Pamela Driscoll and 2x great grandmother of Joan Millen and 4x great grandmother of S.D..
