Research Notes
Birth/Death dates are not marked "Certain" because they are baptism and burial dates. But those dates (23 June 1594 and 26 July 1643) are certain.[2][7] Or not. His History of Parliament Online biography has 23 January 1594 as the date of his baptism.[3]
Detached Profiles: This profile was detached from being son of Erasmus Spelman (Henry's brother) and Bridget.[8] Erasmus and Bridget are not known to have had a son named John.[9]

His HOP biography begins: "Spelman must not be confused with John Spelman of Narborough, head of the senior branch of the family who was returned for Castle Rising in 1645." That John would be the son of Clement Spelman.
Spilman-444 and Spelman-73 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates & intended for same person. Spelman-73 is protected to preserve LNAB in merge with Spilman-444. I believe Spelman is the better choice for LNAB (father's profile is Spelman, and John is Spelman in Visitation & HOP), but if you disagree, please contact me prior to approving the merge. Thanks!
