Research Notes

According to Sprague, The Brothers Ralph & William Sprague And Some Of Their Descendants, p. 10, Naomi Sprague was the daughter (and eldest of three children) of Daniel Sprague (b. 28 Mar 1713, Providence, Rhode Island; d. 1788; resided in Johnston, Providence, Rhode Island) by his first wife, Sarah Ballou, whom he married in about 1730. Sprague indicated in a footnote that the name of this wife and their three children were from the notes of Dwight H. Kelton, Esq. of Montpelier, Vermont, and were not found in the Rhode Island records.

This intended Naomi Sprague would, therefore, have been born in about 1731. This estimated date has therefore been restored to the birth date field, marked "Uncertain."
