Notes

There is no documentation that links Sarah Bates Burr to Sarah Sprague Bates being her mother.

Confusion between Sarah Bates married to Elisha Burr and Sarah Sprague who married Caleb Bates and thus became Sarah Sprague Bates continues-

"Yet time and again these volumes are used as a source reference for Sarah Bates d. Jul 1790 in Hingham, who married Elisha Burr. It is in Burr's family genealogy that Sarah's vital records are shown.

  • History of the Town of Hingham, Massachusetts (The Town of Hingham, Massachusetts, 1893): Vol II, p.102

It seems evident that a Sarah Bates was conceived and born (1716) out of wedlock. Sarah's birth and the marriage of Caleb and Sarah (1716) coincide."[citation needed]

Sprague-1351 and Sprague-233 appear to represent the same person because: Sprague-1351 was a profile without a manager which I took one, the husband and other family information was good but the birthdate was wrong. Once it was corrected I realized it matched. Sprague-233 has no parents and Sprague-1351 has no husband and children.
