Biography

Thomas Jefferson Sprague, the son of Nehemiah and Mary (Mason) Sprague, was born in 1808. He would marry twice in his life and have children by both wives. First he married Loraine M. Higgins in around 1832. They had the following children:

(Unknown) Sprague (1833- ) Died young.

Mary A. Sprague (1835- )

Thomas H. Sprague (1836-1864)

Gilbert Sprague (1838-1857)

Loraine would pass away in 1842.

Thomas married his second wife, Anna Martin, in 1845. Just like Thomas, Anna had been married before (Charles Welshans in 1838) and had several children by her first marriage. Thomas and Anna would have the following children:

Aaron Sprague (Died an infant)

Joseph M. Sprague (1847-1937)

Fellman Martin Sprague (1849-1922)

Grafton Sprague (1851-1940)

Lucinda Mae Sprague (1854-1889)

Melinda A. Sprague (1856-1911)

B. Furtiman Sprague (1865- )

Isaac Welchonce Sprague (unknown)

Thomas would live to be 64 years old, passing away in 1872.
