Biography

Clara Lois Addy, 92, of Plainfield, passed away at Autumn Health Care in Coshocton with her loving family by her side on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006. Lois was born to the late Grover C. and Florence (McAllister) Sprague, Nov. 20, 1913 in the outskirts of Plainfield.

She and her late husband Marshall Vernon Addy owned and operated the General Store and Post Office in Plainfield for 47 years. She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, 50 year member of the Eastern Star, Plainfield's Women's Club and the Progressive Guild in West Lafayette. Lois enjoyed her Together Sunday School Class, helping the Red Cross during blood drives at the Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, bringing baked goods and antiques to the Coshocton County Fair and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

She is survived by her son, Bill (Donna) Addy of Plainfield; sister, Dortha German of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchidlren, Michael (Lisa) Addy of West Lafayette and Kimberly Addy of Plainfield; special niece Denise Smith of Harrisburg, O.; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by herhusband, Marshall Vernon Addy, who died in December of 2002, and two sisters, REva Jennings and Rachel Pallete.

Friends may call at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, from 11 to 1 p.m. where funeral services will start at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. James Woodring and pastor Johnnie Swan officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery at West Lafayette.
