Charles Welton Spring was born around 1832 in Connecticut, United States.^[1][2][3]

He was married to Caroline Amanda Jewett.^[4] Their children were:^[4]

• Frank Jewett Spring (1861–1940)
• Florence Ada Spring (1863–1864)
• Charles Sherman Spring (1865–1865)
• Clarabel May Spring (1866–1883)

Charles died on 8 July 1878 in Salmon Brook, Granby, Hartford, Connecticut, aged 45 years.^[4][5][6] His remains were interred at Granby Cemetery.^[5]

Research notes

Ella, living with Charles and his wife in 1860, was Charles's step-daughter. Her biological father was Caroline's first husband Leroy.
