Shea Spring was born on 20 January 1929, the son of Eleanor Spring and John Alexander Spring.^[1][2]

He had three children.^[2]

Shea died on 12 March 2006 in New Zealand, aged 77years.^[1][3] His remains were interred in the Eketahuna Mangaoranga Cemetery.^[3]
