In trying to trace this Ephraim Spring, it is easy to confuse him with some other Ephraim Springs in Massachusetts (as in Ancestry.com hints). I can see that he moved several times in census records: from 1790 in Granville, Washington County, New York (prob. where he was born), to Franklin, Delaware County. New York in 1800, 1810, and 1820, and Randolph, Crawford County, Pennsylvania in 1830, 1840, and 1850.
However, at age 15 in the 1790 census he most likely was not the head of household, so possibly another Ephraim was his father. Most Springs came from Massachusetts so that is where I will look for his father, maybe before he lived in Washington County, New York. I am thinking that Ephraim Spring (1745–1808), born in Worcester, Mass and died in Franklin, Delaware County, New York was his father. That Ephraim's father was Nathaniel Spring (1716-1794), who was in Granville, NY in 1778 according to a Revolutionary War receipt.
Not sure why you undid my edits to the profile of Ephraim Spring? I had added inline references to Find A Grave and corrected the birthdate. Thanks for keeping the birthdate at least. Hope I didn't offend with my edits.
