It's supposed that Frederick's parents were Martha Spring and John Spring, because Frederick's son Benjamin is recorded the nephew of Hannah Fanny Gravestock in the 1911 England Census,[7] and Fanny's mother Rachel Hakesley's sister Emma was married to Benjamin Spring, who was Martha and John's son.
