Biography

Elizabeth Spring was born on 2 April 1702 in Watertown Massachusetts, the daughter of Henry Spring and Lydia Spring. She was baptized April 6, 1701/02.[1][2]

Before 1729, Elizabeth (aka Elisabeth) married Samuel Whittemore. She and Samuel were the parents of the following children: [3]

  • Samuel Whittemore, Jr. born March 19, 1721, in Cambridge, married Love Stone on June 11, 1747
  • Elizabeth Whittemore, Jr. who married William Cutler September 15, 1743
  • Sarah Whittemore, who married John Dickson Jr. January 19, 1749
  • Thomas Whittemore, born October 29, 1729, died October 5, 1799, married Anna Cutter, daughter of Gershom Cutter and Anna (Fillebrown) Cutter [4]
  • Susanna Whittemore, who "died of a sudden illness" April 5, 1752 at the age of 20, and unmarried
  • Hannah Whittemore, who married Thomas Cutter, May 19, 1757 [5]
  • Mary Whittemore, born May 5, 1741, married Stephen Whitmore, III of Medford, on July 14, 1763
