Marriage: 7 Feb 1809 Jones Co., Georgia to Minerva (Miner) Whatley

John and Minerva had 6 sons; Dennis, Daniel, Job L, Elisha, Martin, and Leeberry and 1 daughter, Victoria.

Dennis stayed in Alabama

Daniel, Job L, Elisha, and Martin moved to Mississippi

Leeberry moved to Texas

Victoria died in Alabama

John served in the Army during the War of 1812.

I think John and Miner moved to Mississippi between June 1845 when they were dismissed from Mt Pleasant Church, in Alabama and the Nov 1850 Census where they were listed on the Monroe Co., Mississippi Census.

John is believed to be buried in New Chapel Cemetery, Itawamba Co., Mississippi.
