"Josephine Sproul- Her birth date is 22 Mar 1854 in Dixmont, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Margaret Sproul (he is born Scotch-Irish). It is told in our family that she was a foundling on the Allegheny River bank though this cannot be confirmed. She bore six or seven children with George Wood though she lived separately from about1889 until her death 23 Apr 1928. She purchased a separate family plot (section L, #239) on the opposite side (from the large Wood plot) of Highwood Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. Here she rests with her daughter Julia, son Benjamin, and Benjamin’s family.".
