  • According to John Henry Spurrier's obituary "Deceased was born in Bristol, England, in 1807, and removed with his parents to Nova Scotia in 1813. The father, William Atwell Spurrier, removed with his family to New York in 1815. Two years later he came to Lancaster."
  • Took Oath of Allegiance on 6th May 1817, "before the Clerk of the Justice Court of the City of New York."
  • Naturalized 14 Oct 1856, Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania
