Mary St Leger was born (about 1612) into the large family of Sir Warham St Leger and his wife Mary Hayward, daughter of Sir Rowland Hayward of Brigdnorth and London. She married Col. William Codd of Wateringbury, Kent, Esq, on 27 Nov 1632. They had a son, Col. St Leger Codd, born around 1635, who emigrated to Virginia.
