Biography

According to the Visitation of Cambridgeshire, Richard St George, knight, was the son of William St George, knight, and his second wife, Catherine the daughter of John Maningham. Richard married Ann the daughter of Thomas Burgaine, and they had Thomas St George.^[1]

Richard St George, of Hungre Hatley, knight, was a defendant in Common Pleas in 1473 ^[2] and 1480.^[3]

Richard St George died on 9 October 1485 and his IPM was held on 24 May, 1 Henry VII (1486). He died seised of the manors of Hungre Hatley and Tadlowe, which had been given to him and his wife Anne by his father, William St George, knight. His son and heir was Thomas, aged 14.^[4]
