According to the wedding record, Benjamin is the son of B. Stacey and L. Spence.
Research Notes
Multiple secondary sources give Benjamin's mother's name as 'Lucy Rainer', born in 1810.
The 1913 Toronto City Directory shows a Benjamin Stacey, bricklayer, living at 221 Brock Ave. in Toronto, the only Benjamin Stacey in Toronto at the time. This is Benjamin and Mary Jane's son (with whom Mary Jane was living at the time of her death). [1]
