This indenture made the 23rd day of November, one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, and in the thirty eight year of American Independence, between James Stafford of the county of Camden and state aforesaid of the one part, and Jesse Standley of the county of Tattnall and State aforesaid, of the other part, WITNESSETH, that the said James Stafford, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and confirm unto the said Jesse Standley, his heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county of Tattnall, and originally granted to John Leigh, and bounded on all sides by vacant land at the time of surveying, which said tract of parcel of land contains three hundred aces lying in the county aforesaid at the time of this indenture. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances whereof whatsoever to the said tract of land being, belonging or in anywise appertaining with the remainder and reminders, rents, issues, and profits thereof to the only use, benefit and behoof of the said Jesse Stanley, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, in fee simple. And the said James Stafford, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, the said bargained tract or parcel of land unto the said Jesse Stanley, his heirs and assigns, against the said James Stafford and his heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.

Sworn to before me this 10th day of May, 1814

On 15 August 1815 in Tattnall County, Georgia, Shadrack Standley, Sr. of East Florida to Jesse and John Standley of East Florida for one dollar sold 480 acres of land in Tattnall County bounded by Stephen Matlock, P. Standley and the Altamaha River. Signed: Shadh Standley. Witnesses: Stephen Matlock and Ezekl Stafford. Recorded 9 November 1911. The deed was entered in probate on 14 March 1829. Recorded 9 March 1911.

On 25 January 1814, at Fort Mitchell in Spanish Florida, Shadrack Stanley [sic] was among the 105 "Citizens of the District of Elotchaway In the Republic of East Florida " who signed a petition to Congress for admission into the Union. Included in the signers were other names associated with Shadrack Standley and Tattnall County, Georgia: McKeene Green, Enoch Daniel, George Henderson, Ezekiel Stafford and James Stafford.
