Additions by Francis E. Berkey (Berkey-120), 13 Jun 2020: When my wife (Stafford-3336) began research on the family we went to WVU Library and came up with a bunch so I will begin expansion here. We found that James came to this country with 2 brothers which I will move into at a later time.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

I was matched with him on ancestry from my mother's side seems to be the first of my family who came to America

I think the two James Staffords connected as married to Lucretia Reins with two separate groups of children are in error.

They appear to be two separate families, which will need to be properly sorted.
