James was the son of William de Stafford and his wife, Isabella.[2]
James was the father of Margaret de Stafford who was married to John de Hardeshull, Kt.[2]
Alternative death date: Sir James Stafford of Sandon, co. Staff died about 1365[3]
In Trinity term, 48 Edward III, [which was 22 May to 12 June, 1374] Margaret, late the wife of John de Hardeshull, sued Margaret de Stafford, at Staffordshire, for the manor of Bromshulf (Bramshall) which her great-grandfather, William de Stafford, had give to his son, William, and his wife, Isabella, for their lives, with remainder to James, son of William, son of William, and the heirs of his body.[2]
Search of FreeReg.org found no James Stafford baptized in Staffordshire 1250-1280, but Sandon was not an option for narrowing the search. ~ Noland-165 23:17, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

From "Baronia Anglica Concentrata, or, A Concentrated Account of all the Barons; Pretermissi. Vol.II, Eminent families omitted by Dugdale: i. Page 133: STAFFORD.-(35 Edw.III.). Paraphrase:... the electronic translation then goes into detail about James de Stafford who was one of those summoned by Edward III. With regard to this James no mention is made of him by Dugale in his account of the Stafford family although a Richard Stafford was summoned at the same time." From this we can determine he exists? y or n. I'm going with yes but I could be wrong in that I haven't confirmed dates yet. The timing seems consistent. Particularly since the same source (pg98) documents his pedigree lineage. Is this sham documentation?
