Biography

Parents : Jacob Staley & Nancy Dehart

The Staley Family was very wealthy. New York was called New Holland. The Staleys came over from Holland before the Revolutionary War. During the war, they were Tories and served in the King's Regiment, which is why they moved to Canada after the War. They lived in Black Creek, Canada. The Staleys came back to the USA about the time of the Civil War. Some via Detroit and some via Buffalo, New York. The name Staley name is English. They were Episcopalians.
