Research Notes

Jones shows 19 Feb to be the birth date, not the baptismal date.

Just as the Driedorf registers are complicated and difficult in regard to Stahl entries, NY colonial church books are also extremely arduous to search for ths family. The reason for this is the fact that three later-arriving families from Driedorf arrived in the Columbia/Dutchess County regions in the 1750s, complete with petitions to emigrate from the gobernment! The later Stahls intermingled with the 1709er Stahls upon their arrivial--even sponsoring them at various churches along the Hudson. The merging of these two groups then makes sorting them all out a real challenge.[5]

A John Henry Stahl died 2 Oct 1757[6]. His identity is unknown

This man must be the son of Stahl-39 rather than a duplicate or brother?

If this is the Johan Heinrich from the manifest, his BD would need to be 1707 (he was 3 in 1710, if I'm reading correctly). Anna Elizabeth (Stahl-1892) was 20, therefore her BD should be 1690ish). I'm looking at a transcription, of course, but Stahl-1892 has some inaccurate info (says she was taken to be one of the unidentified children, when she is named )
