Biography

Robert H. Stamm Sr., 80, of Philipsburg died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at his home.

He was the son of the late Carl Edward and Elsie Rebecca (Flick) Stamm born May 1, 1932 in Bellefonte. He married the former Rosie E. Hanscom on Aug. 18, 1952 in West Virginia. She survives him at home.

Mr. Stamm was of the Christian faith. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a self-employed carpenter for many years, until retiring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick and Edward Stamm; four sisters, Phyllis Stamm, Patricia Baker, Helen Allison, and Carol Laubcher; and two brothers, James and Carl “Bud” Stamm.

Along with his wife, Mr. Stamm is survived by three daughters, April Shannon and her husband, Tim of Roswell, GA; Sherry McClain and her husband, Brian of Port Matilda; and Bobbi Jo Moses and her husband, Joe of Villa Rica, GA; four sons, Robert H. Stamm Jr. and his wife, Rhonda of DuBois and Carl Stamm and his wife, Tammy and Greg Stamm and his wife, Shirley and Chris Stamm and his wife, Paula, all of Philipsburg.

Also surviving are four sisters, Genevieve Rearick and her husband, Ken; Shirley Dowling and her husband, Steve; and Linda Confer and her husband, Bill all of Jersey Shore and Janet Weaver and her husband, Ron of Austin, TX; and a brother Eddy Stamm and his wife, Susan of Jersey Shore. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg, PA, with the Rev. Roger Laktash officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Unionville.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
