Biography

From Violets birth certificate transcription:

I have a copy of Violets's birth certificate and it gives her birth date as 2nd December 1893 at Appin.

Her father is James Standen a farmer aged 45 years and born at Wagga Wagga. It gives his marriage date as 3rd September 1883 at Gulgong and states their were three males and 1 female child living at the time of Violet's birth. It gives her mother's name as Eleanor Maria Hayes aged 37 years and her birth place as Tambaroora. James Standen was the informant and was living at Appin. The birth was registered on the 30th October 1893 at Campbelltown.

Enter a personal reminiscence or story.
My mother Evelyn told me of journeys around NSW with her mother Violet selling Alladin lamps.

Violet was badly afflicted with arthritis in the legs and was largely bed ridden in her final years.
