After the death of his first wife Chloe, he married his first cousin Huldah Leach. They moved from Eaton, NY and settled in Troupsburg township in Steuben County, New York very near the border of Pennsylvania. They had no children. Huldah's nephew, Ephraim Leach lived with them sometime before 1850 and inherited the farm after their deaths.
Both Daniel and Huldah are buried in Brookfield, Pennsylvania not far from their farm in New York.
